The rainy streets of New Hope were the perfect setting for Nikki & PJ’s engagement session. Fortunately, we were able to start in the much more cozy lounge of the Logan Inn’s whiskey bar.

From falling in love as high school sweethearts and spending much of their engagement long distance while PJ finished working toward his PhD, their love story transcended both time and space to bring them to today: planning their wedding for December of 2024.

We started in the cellar of the Logan Inn. Its checkered floors, funky red leather seating, and incredible stone walls were the perfect vibey backdrop. Next, we explored upstairs to their famous whiskey bar for some super moody portraits.

After we got our fill of the Logan Inn, we explored the canal trail for a few minutes in an attempt to beat the rain. Imagine our surprise and delight to find some winter greenery still alive! While we didn’t beat the rain, Nikki & PJ fully embraced it with clear umbrellas and extremely cozy vibes. Rain is, of course, a literal damper, but there are so many fun and beautiful ways to embrace weather for engagement photos and for wedding days. Clear umbrellas provide interesting depth and texture. Raindrops literally spatter the image itself, especially through an umbrella. I love when couples are up for braving the literal storm and embracing it all!

Nikki and PJ’s wedding in December 2024 overflowed with love and celebration. I can’t wait to share more about their love story on another (much more sunny) winter day.
